1 KB = 1,000 bytes. Target mode may reduce quality and dimensions. PNG has no quality setting. JPG fills transparency with white. Animated images export a single frame. Maximum 40 megapixels and 16,000 pixels per side.

Compress an image to a target size
When you enter 100 KB, 200 KB, or another limit, SuperUtils tests a range of quality settings in your browser. If quality alone cannot reach the target, it gradually reduces pixel dimensions. Because encoders work differently by browser, the result aims to stay at or below the target rather than promising an exact byte count. For a strict form limit, follow the step-by-step 50KB image compression guide, or open the 20KB compressor for exam and form uploads.
Compress to 20KB, 50KB, or 100KB
Choose a preset or enter a custom target. The output check uses the actual file bytes: 20KB means 20,000 bytes, 50KB means 50,000 bytes, and 100KB means 100,000 bytes. A target-met result checks storage size, not legibility or another website’s format and dimension requirements.
JPG, WebP, or PNG?
JPG is widely compatible and effective for photos. WebP often produces a smaller photo at similar visual quality. PNG preserves sharp graphics and transparency without lossy quality settings, but photo-like PNG files can remain large.
Compression versus resizing
Compression changes how efficiently the image is encoded. Resizing an image changes its pixel dimensions. A strict form limit may require both. Every fresh export also leaves EXIF metadata behind; use the batch EXIF Cleaner when metadata removal is the primary job.
Frequently asked questions
Can I compress an image to 20KB or 50KB?
Yes. Choose the 20KB or 50KB preset, select a format, and compress. Smaller targets may require lower quality or smaller pixel dimensions. The target check uses decimal KB: 20KB is 20,000 bytes and 50KB is 50,000 bytes.
How can I compress an image to 100 KB?
Choose the image, enter 100 in Target size, select JPG or WebP, and compress. The tool searches for the highest quality that fits and reduces dimensions only if quality changes are not enough.
Does image compression reduce quality?
JPG and WebP compression trade some detail for a smaller file. The preview and quality control help you choose the balance. PNG output is lossless but may need smaller dimensions to meet a strict target.
Are compressed images uploaded?
No. The entire compression process uses your browser canvas and the output exists only on your device.
